John Kircher, MD – Retina Fellow

Dr. John Kircher, M.D., is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and seasoned military cataract and refractive surgeon with over 8 years of experience post-residency. He graduated with honors in Chemical Engineering from the US Military Academy at West Point and earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Kircher completed his internship and Ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, DC. He has served as the Chief of Ophthalmology at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX, and as Chief of the Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program in Landstuhl, Germany. Dr. Kircher holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army.
An avid golfer, Dr. Kircher played on the West Point golf team. He has completed two marathons (Baltimore and Philadelphia) and is a Black Belt in Karate. In his free time, Dr. Kircher enjoys woodworking and spending time with his three hilarious daughters.”
